Alcoholic Holiday Drinks for Chocolate Lovers

By:

It’s time to think about fun drinks as we enter the holiday season. The proverbial eggnog punch is always popular for a gathering of friends, but I’ve decided to concentrate on single servings of three drinks and one delicious dessert that require Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur. Not your everyday libation, that’s for sure.

40/40 Martini

Ingredients

Hershey’s chocolate syrup for swirling

2 ounces vanilla vodka

1 ½ ounces Godiva white chocolate liqueur

Directions

Make a few swirls of chocolate syrup on the inside of a chilled martini glass

Combine the vanilla vodka and white chocolate liqueur in a cocktail shaker filled with ice

Shake and pour into the prepared martini glass

Yield: 1 serving. Prep: 5 minutes

Recipe created by: The 40/40 Club, New York. A demo of this drink was given at the 40/40 Club and shown on Sandra Lee’s new TV show, Taverns, Lounges & Clubs.

Taste test:

This is a delicious drink that looks very pretty in an elegant martini glass. Is it overly sweet? No. Just be sure you measure precisely. And be sure to put the martini glass into the freezer ahead of time.

White Russian

Ingredients

1/2 ounce white chocolate liqueur

1 1/2 ounces Cîroc vodka

1 ounce milk

Directions

Pour in a rocks glass over ice

Stir well

Yield: 1 serving

Prep: 3 minutes

Cîroc is a French vodka that’s made from grapes, not rye, wheat or potatoes.

Taste test:

An easy-to-make drink that tastes delicious and gives on a bit of a buzz.

Talbot’s Dream

Ingredients

3 ounces white chocolate liqueur

2 ounces Bailey’s Irish Cream

Directions

Pour liqueur and Irish Cream into a blender

Add ice cubes and crush/blend well

Pour over ice cubes in a rocks glass

Maraschino cherry for garnish

Yield: 1 serving

Prep: 3 minutes

Taste test:

For those who desire a delicious drink with not too much “pow”, this is the one for you.

French Vanilla Supreme

Ingredients

1 ounce white chocolate liqueur

2 scoops French vanilla ice cream

Directions

Drizzle the liqueur over the ice cream

Serve in a parfait glass or small bowl

Yield: 1 serving

Prep: 3 minutes

Taste test:

A delicious dessert created for the young-in-heart (but not for the kiddies). And, for those who want a bit of a kick when they eat ice cream.

Note:

Godiva white chocolate liqueur is smooth, creamy and delicious. Its silky taste can be enjoyed straight, in an elegant cocktail or as a delectable addition to coffee.

Bailey’s Irish Cream can also be used as an ingredient or poured over ice cubes in a rocks glass.

French Vanilla Ice Cream can be found in many stores that sell groceries. A delicious version may be purchased at Traders Joe’s.

For garnish use maraschino cherries (preserved and sweetened). The ones I used are called “tipsy” cherries and, in spite of the name, they are simply regular maraschino cherries with stems.
